While it was a pretty cool product most people were a bit disappointed by the lack of customizability.

One of the most wanted features for this fan was the capability to put your own text messages on the fan's blades. Fortunately ThermalTake has listened to comments from the community and at CeBIT 2008 the firm has shown off the ModX fan.

The ModX is world's first programmable logo fan, just like the iFlash fan it will feature a POV display and temperature readout but this time you'll also be able to put your own words on the fan! Few details are available about the ModX fan but I suppose it uses a USB interface. The product ships with some software for Windows and supports four different pattern effects.

The ThermalTake ModX fan will be available in 80mm and 120mm versions. for more information about pricing just click here.

The New XPG Gaming Series Memory Modules From ADATA

Designed for high reliability and extra stability A-DATA Technology Co., Ltd., a worldwide leader in high performance memory products, introduces today its entire XPG Gaming Series which represents the very best of A-DATA's cutting edge technology in gaming memories, delivering the perfect blend of performance, durability and stability with low power consumption. The company is on track for production readiness of this future generation using even more energy-efficient, denser and higher performing transistors in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Intel will provide a multitude of technical details around the 32nm process technology along with several other topics during presentations at the International Electron Devices meeting (IEDM) next week in San Francisco. Finishing the development phase for the company's 32nm process technology and production readiness in this timeframe means that Intel remains on pace with its ambitious product and manufacturing cadence referred to as the company's "tick-tock" strategy.

That plan revolves around introducing an entirely new processor microarchitecture alternating with a cutting edge manufacturing process about every 12 months, an effort unmatched in the industry. Producing 32nm chips next year would mark the fourth consecutive year Intel has met its goal.

LaCie and Noctua team up to create quiet RAID

Leading external storage manufacturer LaCie and renowned quiet cooling specialist Noctua today announced their cooperation on the development of acoustically optimized storage solutions. The recently announced LaCie 4big Quadra and LaCie 5big Network, designed by Neil Poulton, are the first LaCie four and five-bay RAID external storage solutions to feature Noctua cooling technology. Thanks to the use of Noctua's NF-P12 fan, their noise emission is reduced, on average, by 40% compared to their predecessors.

"LaCie always seeks to combine class-leading performance with design and ergonomics", said Olivier Mirloup, LaCie Hard Disk Solutions Business Unit Manager. "Offering capacities up to 6TB and 7.5TB respectively and a versatile hot-swap feature, LaCie 4big Quadra and LaCie 5big Network support seven RAID modes for optimal performance and data protection. Furthermore, we wanted our products to become the reference in terms of quietness for professional storage. That's why we've chosen Noctua's award-winning NF-P12 fan for cooling, and we are very proud of the result. It's a vast improvement."

Logitech Debuts the G13 Game-Changing Gameboard

Whether you're rescuing hostages, on a quest with your guild or saving humanity, you don't want to worry about hand fatigue or hitting the wrong key. OpenCL (Open Computing Language) is a new compute API that allows developers to harness the massive parallel computing power of the GPU. The addition of OpenCL is another major milestone in the GPU revolution that gives NVIDIA developers another powerful programming option.

NVIDIA kicked off the GPU computing revolution with the introduction of NVIDIA CUDA, its massively parallel computing ISA and hardware architecture. CUDA was designed to natively support all parallel computing interfaces and will seamlessly run OpenCL. Enabled on over 100 million NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA has unleashed unprecedented performance boosts across a wide range of applications and provides a huge installed base for the deployment of compute applications using OpenCL. With support for other industry standard languages such as C, Java, Fortran and Python, only the CUDA architecture provides developers with a choice of programming environments to aid the rapid development of compute applications on the GPU.

Logitech Introduces Comfort Lapdesk for Notebooks

You can use your laptop anywhere in your home. But what you gain in mobility, you often sacrifice in comfort. To address this pain point, Logitech (SIX LOGN) (NASDAQ LOGI) today introduced the Logitech® Comfort Lapdesk for Notebooks – the newest addition to the company's line of notebook accessories. The Comfort Lapdesk provides a stable base and helps protect against laptop heat whether you're working from the comfort of your couch, relaxing on your bed or reclining on the living-room floor.

"While other lapdesks promise improved comfort, they often fall short because of poor design and low-quality materials," said Denis Pavillard, Logitech's vice president of product marketing for keyboards and desktops. "The new Logitech lapdesk has a thoughtful design that will help make your laptop experience more comfortable, wherever you use your computer."

Team Xtreem Triple Channel DDR3 ahead of others Triple bandwidth, X-triple speed

After winning countless praise and awards for the DDR3 1800 and DDR3 2000 modules, the Xtreem DDR3 tri-channel module from Team has become the key of the next-gen Core i7 platform. In memory architecture, the Core i7 has enhanced the frequency from DDR3 1333 to DDR3 1866. In addition to increasing the speed by nearly 30%, the tri-channel layout has an expanded bandwidth to 44GB/Sec for the Team Xtreem DDR3 1866 to exert its "market-fastest" advantage. The Xtreem Dark DDR3 1600 and DDR3 1333 are low-latency models in 8-8-8-24 and 7-7-7-21 timings (tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) respectively on 1.65V. These have displayed Team's unrivaled R&D capacity.

All Xtreem DDR3 tri-channel modules from Team are made with genuine BGA chips in 128x8 configurations. They are available in 6GB (3 x 2GB) and 3GB (3 x 1GB) kits to meet the capacity needs of different users. A tradition of Team, all tri-channel memory modules are produced in under strict quality control and must pass vigorous tri-channel tests before shipping to ensure that every module has excellent, stable and reliable performance. Also, Team has equipped them with brand-new, fashionable black aluminum heatsinks which present an exquisite appearance with the unique X-shaped type design to mark out the eXtreme performance of the product.

A-Data XPG X Series Version 2.0, The Ultimate Memory for Overclocking

A-DATA Technology, a worldwide leader in high performance memory products, announced today that it is launching A-DATA XPG DDR3-2133X v2.0 of its X Series. Integration of Teradici's PCoIP remote enterprise desktop technology in WinFast VP200 enables delivery of a high-definition graphic and multimedia experience across standard IP networks, unmatched by any thin client on the market today. The first public demonstration of WinFast VP200 will be at SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 in Singapore from December 11th to 13th.

WinFast VP200 featuring PCoIP technology ensures data security and simplifies IT management, eliminating the recognized limitations of traditional desktops and thin clients. Traditional desktop environments handle computing resources locally at the desktop, increasing the chance for corporate data leakage, whereas, PCoIP technology enables all computing resources to be transferred to a data center enhancing enterprise data management and security. While thin clients offer the benefits of centralized computing, they provide limited media and graphical user experience and lack full USB support. Now, WinFast VP200 enables end users to enjoy a real desktop PC experience that is fan-less, with low power consumption, and supports any graphics interface or USB peripheral - just plug and play with no driver installation required!

The WinFast VP 200 system includes a WinFast VP200H host PCI Express card and a WinFast VP200P desktop portal. The Host Card allows you to centralize your computing in a data center as an add-in solution to your existing Workstation, Rack Mount, or Blade Server to secure all data and computers; On the desktop, a stateless device called a Portal connects over a standard enterprise IP network to the Host Card, eliminating heat, noise, and clutter at the end user’s desk for a comfortable working environment.

So come and be impressed by the powerful workstation graphic capability of the WinFast VP200 with Quadro in the Leadtek & NVIDIA booth #101at SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 in the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Center from December 11th to 13th. Mirror finished copper base further increases the heat absorption rate to effectively remove heat from processors. Over-sized 110mm fan with all-range variable speed controller allows flexible adjustments on the fan speed according to various system requirements.

Open-frame design on the fan further reduces air pulsating noise of cooler fans, and thus reaching a nearly silent operation condition. Side flow design utilizes system air and allows the cool system air to pass through the cooler and achieve more effective cooling than ever before. The unique architecture of V1 AX provides multi-directional air intake that absorbs more cool air to achieve better thermal performance.

For more information about this product status and price, please click here

OCZ introduces Throttle eSATA Flash Drive series

OCZ Technology Group, Inc., a worldwide leader in innovative, ultra-high performance and high reliability memory, today introduced the Throttle eSATA drive, which offers performance and versatility for enthusiasts that demand the best hardware. It is ideally suited for use in CPU, GPU cooling and other applications between power semiconductor components and heat sinks where thermal conductivity is a major factor.

Safe to apply anywhere Since the MX-2 does not contain any metal particles, there are no problems regarding electrical conductivity or capacitance. Unlike other silver and copper compounds, MX-2 ensures that contact to electrical traces, pins and leads cannot result in any damage.

Durability With MX-2 no curing and no bleeding of the compound are possible. In contrast to other products, this compound does not show decreasing performance over time, does not need to be reapplied and has a durability of at least 8 years.

For more information about this product please click here

Auzentech Unveils X-Fi Forte 7.1 Native PCI Express Soundcard

Auzentech, Inc. A pioneer in the development of the computer mouse in the 1980s, Logitech has enthusiastically driven nearly every major innovation in mouse technology – persistently refining this ubiquitous interface between people and their digital experiences. With more than a billion people currently using computers worldwide and another billion expected to begin using computers by 2014, according to a report by analyst firm Gartner, Logitech continues to pursue compelling innovation to delight users of the next billion mice and input devices of the future.

Founded in a farmhouse in Apples, Switzerland in 1981 and shortly thereafter establishing strong ties in Silicon Valley, Logitech introduced its first retail mouse in 1985 and reached the 100 millionth mouse mark in 1996. Sales of Logitech mice topped 500 million seven years later. Today, Logitech sells mice in more than 100 countries worldwide and manufactures an average of 376,000 mice per day and 7.8 million every month.

“Since the first click of the Logitech® P4 mouse in 1982, Logitech mice have played an indispensable role in the evolution of the personal computer,” said Gerald P. Quindlen, Logitech president and chief executive officer. “During the last few decades, the way people use computers has changed dramatically – what was once strictly a business tool has become highly integrated into our personal lives. Logitech has continually pursued innovations to meet those changing conditions, introducing – in the last five years alone – the world’s first laser mouse, hyper-fast scrolling and the nano-receiver.”

“Looking to the future, the gesture-based Logitech® MX™ Air mouse and the hybrid Logitech® diNovo Mini™ palm-sized keyboard hint at what can be expected from Logitech’s next generation of innovations,” said Rory Dooley, Logitech senior vice president and general manager of the Control Devices business unit. “While the traditional mouse and keyboard still make the most sense for productivity, the emergence of the digital home and new forms of entertainment are opening the doors to new ways of interacting with the computer, whether it be voice, touch or something entirely new.”

As Logitech celebrates its milestone, many will be celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the first public demonstration of the computer mouse.

“What a wonderful coincidence that the leading mouse manufacturer has announced such a significant milestone in the same month that we celebrate Doug Engelbart’s legendary public debut of the computer mouse,” said Curt Carlson, president and chief executive officer of SRI International. “Logitech’s product innovations support Engelbart’s vision of human-computer tools for interactive and collaborative work.”

In celebration of its billionth mouse, Logitech is launching a worldwide contest that invites people to follow the travels of this notable mouse – from the manufacturing line to its final destination – and to try to figure out where in the world it will end up. The mouse's journey will be chronicled on Logitech's blog, BLogitech. Silicon Power has released the availability of its pioneering product: eSATA/USB SSD (eSATA; External Serial ATA), a high-capacity handy SSD in worldwide markets. The eSATA/USB SSD features eSATA and Mini USB dual interface, hot plug and play and four-channel high performance technology. The eSATA connection has a read speed of 92 MB/s and a write speed of 48MB/s, which is 8 times the write speed of the normal USB. The eSATA/USB SSD is available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities that are ideal for those wanting high-speed data transfer, high-capacity and portability.

The eSATA connector provides external data transfer at speeds up to 3Gbps, which is higher than USB 2.0 interface with 480MB/s. It is very convenient for large volume of data transfer at a short time. The bottom of the eSATA/USB SSD is a Mini USB connector offering a read speed of 33MB/s and a write speed of 25MB/s.

With the advent of eSATA technology, most of the desktops, servers and laptops manufacturers start to employ eSATA port as a standard interface. Nearly 60% of new laptops uses eSATA interface. There are two kinds of eSATA port (with power provided/ without power provided). Users need to confirm which kind of port is on your device. If your eSATA connector is with power, you can plug it directly without connecting any cable. If not, users connect Mini USB cable to eSATA/USB SSD first, and then connect USB to the device. Each Silicon Power eSATA/USB SSD package comes with a TTPE to Mini USB Cable and a user manual with detailed instruction. The eSATA/USB SSD is backed by a two-year warranty.

Features
-eSATA and Mini USB dual interface
-Support Windows Vista ReadyBoost function
-Support eSATA-2 3Gbps high speed
-Four channel high performance tech
-LED indicates the usage status (Power/Access LED)
-True plug and play, no external power required
-Compliant with RoHS requirement

Specifications
-Capacity: 8GB, 16GB, 32GB
-Color: Black
-Dimensions: 79.2 x 29.8 x 10.95 mm (L/W/M)
-Weight: 16g
-Connection: eSATA, Mini USB type B
-Support OS: Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Vista, and Linux
-Support eSATA/USB Hot Plug and Play
-Operating Temperature: 0-~70-
-Storage Temperature: -20-~85-
-Vibration: 20 G peak-to-peak max
-Shock: 1500G Max
-2 year warranty

ZOTAC Unleashes Graphics Plus Mini-ITX Platform

ZOTAC International, a leading manufacturer of NVIDIA-based motherboards and graphics cards, today unleashes its first Graphics Plus capable mini-ITX motherboard – the ZOTAC GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi. Since it’s supposed to be carried around, it has to be as lightweight as possible. Most people don’t realize however that heat is also an issue. Notebooks have a tendency to get really hot during prolonged usage. There are several cooling solutions on the market, most of them USB-powered fan units that are both heavy and noisy (click here to take a look on Cooler Master NotePal cooler and see what we are talking about). iXoft, a new product from Thermaltake, is neither, relying on simple chemistry to cool a laptop and prevent the user from feeling its heat.

The iXoft Notebook Cooler is like a table mat with thermal capacity. Lightweight and bendable, it supports notebooks ranging from 12” to 17”. It is made of two layers of fabric with a chemical solution sandwiched in-between: sodium sulfate decahydrate (Na2SO4.10 H2O), also known as Glauber’s Salt, a heat storing substance used on hot/cold gel packs. The surface is grainy because of the sodium sulfate decahydrate crystals inside. Underneath it has a suede coating that is very comfortable and soft when resting on a user’s lap. The sandwich edges are reinforced with thick embroidery so the Glauber’s Salt – who liquefies under intense heat (more about that later) – doesn’t spoil all over the pad.

Spesification

- Revolutionary Fanless Design for absolute silence 0dBA.
- Exclusive HeatShift Technology for ultimate laptop cooling
- Ultra light weight for easy transportation and carrying(only 640g)
- Soft and durable material designed for maximum portability
- iXoft can be used as thermal mat on laps for better comfort
- Application for all types of PC Notebook (12"~17")
- Does not require power so PC Notebook lasts longer !

P/N : Black
Weight : 640g
Dimension : 353x305x12mm
Material : Sodium Sulfate Decahydrate Na2SO4.10H2O
Noise Level : 0 dBA

For more information about price and where to buy please click here

Arctic Cooling Freezer Extreme - CPU Cooling

Product Overview
An Extremely Quiet Twin Tower Cooling Solution
To offer the enthusiast’s market an ultimate CPU cooler for extreme overclocking, Freezer XTREME, a Extremely Quiet Twin Tower CPU cooler especially designed for gamers to fulfill their needs.

Main Features:

- Unmatched cooling performance – 160 Watts
- Unique twin tower 102-fin heat sink design
- Effective heat dissipation via 4 double-sided heatpipes
- 1 ultra quiet 120mm PWM fan
- Patented fan holder eliminates the buzzing sounds
- Voltage regulators and north bridge cooling
- Pre-applied MX-2
- 6 Years Warranty

Extremely Cool
The unique twin tower heatsink consists of 102 fins, which significantly increase the heat dissipation area to distribute massive amount of heat faster and more efficient. The 120mm PWM fan which combined with 8 heatpipes (4 double-sided) and the twin tower heatsink not o&ampshynly transfers heat from the CPU, but it also cools the RAM, north bridge and voltage regulators. Together with the pre-applied MX-2, the Freezer Xtreme offers performance far beyond stock coolers and achieves 160 Watts cooling capacity – an excellent thermal management that boosts overclocking to a new level.

Product Spesification

Heatsink 130L x 100W x 131H mm
Fan 120mm x 1
Fan speed 800 – 1500 RPM (controlled by PWM)
Air flow 35.7CFM / 60.7 m3/h
Maximum Cooling Capacity 160 Watts
Weight 608g

Noise Level
The noise level is measured in Sone (loudness) instead of dB (sound intensity).
The loudness depends upon ears response curves and tells you exactly, how bothering a certain noise is.

Cooling Performance
All Pentium 4 and Core 2 CPUs have an integrated &ampquotThermal Throttling" i.e. in case of overheating risk, the number of working cycles is reduced, thus lowering performance however preventing the CPU from overheating. Therefore to reduce the noise level, a CPU cooler can work at its limit and this way drop the noise level significantly. The Thermal Throttling gets usually activated at 85&ampdegC core temperature.

Good system ventilation is crucial for the CPU cooling. The temperature inside the PC case should never exceed 38&ampdegC. Therefore we recommend to use a controlled case fan, like the ARCTIC Fan PWM series.

Thermal Compound
We ship our coolers with our latest ARCTIC MX-2 thermal compound pre-applied. MX-2 is a high thermal conductivity and low thermal resistance compound that optimizes thermal dissipation. It is ideally suited for use in CPU and GPU cooling where thermal conductivity is a major factor.

For more information about price and where to buy please click here

Xigmatek Battle Axe - VGA Cooling

Product Overview
The World's first H.D.T. How big should it be? What cooling system do I want to use? What features do I need? What color should I get? These aren’t questions anyone can answer for you. However, we can try to guide you to making the best choice.

While looks are subjective, cooling, noise, and usability certainly aren’t. Every case has strengths and likewise, flaws. If you’re looking for the perfect case with all the bells and whistles and looks to top it off, you probably aren’t going to have much luck. Unless you can make your own from scratch, you’re going to have to make some scarifies.

That being said, we’re not living in an age where enthusiasts are ashamed to have their rig sitting on their desk. You can buy stylish and flashy cases without breaking the bank. Innovation has transformed the way components are made to how computers are built. Newer features have made it easier enough for pretty much anyone to buy their own parts off the shelf and put together something that works, something we can all value.

Thermaltake is a company that has been around for a long time. They are probably best known for their cooling solutions power supplies, but the company’s no stranger when it comes to quality PC enclosures.
